Garbage

Pick-up Schedule:

Visit our pick-up schedule page to learn if it is garbage or recycle week.

Cart Placement is Key:

Preparation and cart placement are key. All garbage and recycling must fit inside the cart with the lid closed. Cart placement is important, as the truck's mechanical arm needs unobstructed access to your cart. Remember to:

  • Park It, near the curb or at the road edge.
  • Point It, with the handle facing the house.
  • Give It Space, at least an arm's length (3 feet) of clearance on all sides.

Tips to Remember:

  • Watch for overhead obstructions such as trees, phone or cable wires, and basketball hoops.
  • Cul-de-sac? Get together with your neighbors and line up your carts 3 feet apart on one side or the other.
  • Leave sidewalks and bike lanes unobstructed where possible. It helps to place your cart level with the road.
  • Close the lid--this includes garbage, recycle, and organics.
  • Remember, do not put hazardous waste in your cart.
  • Eliminate overflow and control litter. Overfull carts will spill onto the ground when we dump them.
  • Make sure you have the right size cart; you'll save money.

Have Your Cart Out by 6:00 a.m.

If your cart was not out when our crews came by, you may be charged a return trip fee. Having your cart out by 6:00 a.m. will ensure your cart is emptied.
