Zero Waste - Recycle Plastic Bags
The City of Olympia cannot recycle plastic grocery bags.
What Can You Do? 
Take your bags to local stores that collect them. Many stores accept plastic bags for recycling. Recycle bins are often located near the front door of grocery stores such as Albertsons, Safeway and Top Foods. The bags are used to make more bags, as well as plastic lumber products such as Trex decking.
Stores that offer plastic-bag recycling accept bags from other stores as well, so don't worry about making sure that you return bags only to the grocery store they originally came from. A simple test to see whether a bag is recyclable is to see if you can easily poke your finger through the bag. If so, it's good for recycling.
