The purpose of the Parks & Recreation Advisory Committee (PRAC) is to make recommendations to the City Council regarding plans, policies, programs and projects relating to recreational parks planning activities.
 
The Parks & Recreation Committee is an advisory board, appointed by the Olympia City Council. Members serve three-year terms with a limit of two consecutive terms.

How to Participate: Members of the Parks and Recreation Committee must reside within the City or Urban Growth Area of Olympia, or own a business within the City Limits. No more than two members at a given time shall reside outside the Olympia City boundaries.
 
The City of Olympia will post public notices when positions on City boards and commissions become available. Applications are available by calling City Hall at (360) 753-8447. Successful applicants will be interviewed by the City Council, General Government Committee. Based on committee recommendation, the City Council makes all final appointments.
