Biographical Information
A lifelong resident of Olympia, Craig has always known this is where he would make his home. He loves the vibrant, diverse community of people, the abundant natural resources at our doorstep, the myriad arts and dining choices, and the personal experience of shopping in a downtown that is also his home town.
Craig is a product of local schools, including L.P. Brown, Jefferson, Capital High School, South Puget Sound Community College, and The Evergreen State College. To complete his education he spent time in New Hampshire earning a Master’s degree from Dartmouth College and two years in Los Angeles at USC working towards a Ph.D. in Higher Education Policy Analysis. His work experience includes a broad range of experiences from running Pickle-Ball Inc., to the grocery industry, to working for Washington State at the State Board for Community and Technical Colleges.
His wife Amy grew up in Marysville, Washington, and fell in love with Olympia the first time she visited. She has a background working with children with developmental disabilities and after earning her Master’s in Occupational Therapy has invested her life in the children of the Olympia School District as a school-based occupational therapist. There is nothing Craig is more proud of than the service she brings to our children every day. Craig and Amy are enjoying raising their son here in Olympia. Rainier, born in 2006, often joins Craig for community events.
In late 2006 Craig founded OrgSupport, a small business that provides low-cost staffing services to local nonprofits and foundations. Having gone through the process of starting a small business and learning how to also be a father has helped solidify Craig’s passion for community, service, and education – in all its forms.
