The mission of the Legal Department is to provide an effective and progressive legal program to accomplish the general objectives of the City, to ensure proper legal implementation of City policies, and to legally defend City actions.
The Legal Department has two divisions - Civil and Criminal, and a Victims' Assistance Program.

Banner picture: Each year, one Olympia City employee is selected who best exemplifies the City's SPIRIT motto. Employees are nominated by their peers, and the City Manager selects the recipient.
