Parking Citations Online Frequently Asked Questions

This page has answers to some of our most frequently asked questions including the basics of how it works, payment timing information, privacy information, other online services that are coming in the future and Parking Services contact information

The Basics

  • What information do I need to pay online?  To pay your ticket online you will need either your ticket number or your license plate number.  Once you have entered either number, all tickets that are less than 60 days overdue for your vehicle will appear. If you have multiple vehicles you will need to process each vehicle separately.
  • What forms of payment are accepted?  Payments can be made using either Visa or MasterCard. When making a payment, be sure to have your card available before you start your transaction.
  • Can I pay for multiple tickets in one transaction?  Yes, you may pay for multiple tickets in one transaction. To do this all of the tickets must have been received on the same vehicle.  Once you begin paying a ticket, all tickets that are less than 60 days overdue will appear. Remember if you have multiple vehicles with tickets, each vehicle will require a separate transaction.
  • Can I get a receipt?  Yes, after you have paid you will have the option to print a receipt.  Please select print prior to leaving the site.  After you have quit the session you can NOT come back and print a receipt.
  • Is there a fee to pay online? No, the City does not charge a fee to pay online.

Payment Timing Information:

  • My ticket is 60-days past due can I pay online?  No.  Once your ticket is 60-days or more overdue you can no longer pay online.  The City is working to include this service, however currently this feature is not available.  Additionally, if you have tickets that have been sent to a collections agency, you must contact the agency directly to arrange for payment of the ticket. You may contact the agency directly at 1-800-584--8908.
  • What if today is the 30th day, will I avoid the late fee?  The system automatically calculates late fees.  Therefore, if you pay before the late fee is calculated and your transaction is successful, you do not have to pay the late fee.   If you do not pay before the system calculates the fee, it will be added to your account.
  • What if today is the 60th day; will I still be sent to collections?  If your ticket is available to pay online, and your transaction is successful, you will NOT be sent to collections.
  • How soon does my account get credited?  You receive a credit immediately for your parking citation.   If you exited the program and came back in you would NOT see the citation listed as the system shows it as paid.

Your Privacy:

  • Is my payment processed through a secure site?  Yes.  The financial clearing house (Viaklix) processes your transaction with your card issuer (Visa or MasterCard).  The financial clearing house (Viaklix) complies with the Payment Card Industry (PCI) Data Security Standards.  PCI is endorsed by both Visa and MasterCard and has established and required online security practices.  The financial clearing house has taken extraordinary steps to secure merchant and customer data. They have passed security and compliance audits as required by both Visa and MasterCard.  Although security can never be completely guaranteed, adhering to data security requirement reduces the ability of hackers to gain access to data.  Every precaution is taken to protect customers.
  • The City of Olympia does not have access to your credit card information.  We can access your personal data (name, address, phone number, web address), HOWEVER the City does not keep or use this information except as it relates to the transaction you authorize (i.e. to notify you if there is a problem with your transaction).
