Neighborhood Matching Grants exemplify the City Council's goal to encourage projects that foster civic pride, enhance and beautify neighborhoods, expand citizen involvement, and promote the interests of the Olympia community.  Read on for more information about this grant!  For a full description of the application process and grant requirements, please download the application packet.

Statement of Intent
The goal of the City Council is to encourage projects that foster civic pride,  enhance and beautify neighborhoods, expand citizen involvement, and promote the interests of the Olympia community.  To accomplish this goal, the Olympia City Council will make available grant funds to recognized neighborhood associations up to a 50/50 matching basis.  The City Council firmly believes that community participation and commitment to accomplish improvements within our City are mutually beneficial to all Olympia residents.

General Policy
Neighborhood associations wishing to apply for grant funds must meet the following criteria:

  • Applicants must be a recognized city neighborhood association within the City of Olympia. 
  • The project must be nonprofit in nature.
  • The project must have lasting and/or direct benefit to the neighborhood.

Maximum grant is $4,000 per year.  No project will have a vested right to future funding.

2. Staff Evaluation Complete October 19, 2007

3. City Council Approval & Notice of Funding

December 18, 2007

4. Notice to Proceed Within one (1) week of Council approval to proceed    

January 2008
5. Project Completion   Ten months after notice received from City November 2008
