What We Do

By working in partnership with the citizens of Olympia to promote and maintain a safe and desirable living and working environment, we help maintain or improve the quality of our community by enforcing laws and codes targeted to solve specific problems within the community, such as: 

• Public nuisances:  trash, debris, overgrown vegetation encroaching the right-of-way, and inoperable and unlicensed vehicles on private property.

•  Zoning or land use violations.

• Substandard or dangerous buildings.

Reporting a Violation

Many complaints that are made to Code Enforcment Officers are not violations of the Olympia Municipal Code.  If you have a complaint, please read about Common Problems and Resources before contacting us. 

If you would like to report a possible Code Violation, please download the Code Enforcement Complaint form, complete the information, and mail it to us at the address at the top of the form.  A staff member will contact you to discuss your complaint.
