Project Overview: Four projects are scheduled for construction along Decatur Street between 9th Avenue and the end of Decatur Street. The projects are:
- Low Impact Development (LID) Systems Project: A demonstration project that minimizes the amount of stormwater that drains to streams and other bodies of water. The project is from 9th to 11th Avenues.
- Traffic Calming & Sidewalks: Three devices will be installed along Decatur to reduce traffic speed. Learn more about traffic calming. Sidewalks will be constructed as part of the Parks & Pathways program. They will be located on the west side of Decatur from 9th Avenue to Decatur Woods Park and between 11th and 13th Avenues.
- Pavement Resurfacing: Decatur Street will be resurfaced between 11th and 15th Avenues, including the addition of bike lanes.

LID Project Begins May 12th: The City awarded the construction contract to DLB Earthwork Company of Olympia. Construction will begin May 12, 2008 and end in early August.
Road Closure & Detour: Decatur Street will be closed from 9th to 11th Avenues for approximately two weeks. It is anticipated the closure will start on May 19th, but this could change depending on weather and the construction schedule.
Next Steps: The project will be constructed in phases. The Traffic Calming and Sidewalk projects will start construction early summer and overlap to cause less disruption.
