Heat pumps: What you need to know
Heat pumps are becoming a popular home heating and cooling option. If you are installing a heat pump for a new or existing house, City staff need to verify its location on the lot.
- Please be sure to add any heat pumps to site plans you submit.
- Remember: structures more than 30 inches high are prohibited in side yards. (See OMC 18.05.080.)

Building Permits

Building, or construction, permits are required for most construction in the City. Plumbing, electrical, and mechanical permits may also be necessary and are separate from the construction permit.
