Speeding Concerns

The City of Olympia recognizes that traffic conditions directly affect the livability of neighborhoods.  Residents want to feel safe and secure while they interact socially, bicycle, walk, and drive in their neighborhood.  When vehicle speeds and traffic volumes are excessive,  neighborhoods can lose their sense of identity and community. 

Neighborhood Traffic Management Program (NTMP) is designed to help residents address traffic concerns they may have in their neighborhood.  You can learn more about the Neighborhood Traffic Management Program including information about the type of devices available.  

Traffic Counts:  Learn about Traffic Counts and what the information is used for. 

Signs Don't Always Work: Want a stop sign in your area.  Learn why stopt signs don't ways work.

Neighborhood Speed Watch:  The City of Olympia also has a Neighborhood Speed Watch Program.   This program provide citizens a way to play a active roles in solving speeding problems in their neighborhood.
