The City of Olympia has great quality water - and we're proud of that! In fact, our water continues to meet or exceed State and Federal drinking water standards. We employ a team of experienced and dedicated professionals to ensure the City's water is safe to drink. Every year we conduct more than 12,000 tests for 200 different contaminants at our water sources and throughout the water system.
In addition to testing and monitoring our drinking water, the City has a Cross Connection Control Program to address actual or potential connections between our drinking water pipes and potential sources of contamination. Visit the Cross Connection page to learn more about cross connections and how it relates to water quality.
2008 Drinking Water Report: The 1996 Federal Safe Drinking Water Act requires the City of Olympia to send an annual report on the quality of our drinking water.
We distributed the report by mail to City of Olympia water customers during National Drinking Water Week (May 4-10). The report is also available in a printer friendly version (PDF) for download, or you may call us at (360) 709-2774 to have a copy mailed to you.
The 2008 Drinking Water Report summarizes the 2007 water quality test results and highlights important information on:
- Olympia's water sources
- Drinking water contaminants
