The City of Olympia provides our own collection services, as well as education outreach and technical assistance.
Our mission is to lead and inspire our community toward a waste-free future. To assist in that effort, we create opportunities to eliminate waste.
Toward Zero Waste: Olympia's Waste ReSources Master Plan
In June 2006, Olympia City Council adopted a Zero Waste Resolution. It establishes a vision for the City and a new direction for the Waste ReSources utility and gave rise to a new strategic and operational six-year plan. On November 26, 2007, Council adopted Toward Zero Waste: Olympia's Waste ReSources Plan 2008-2013. Check out our Zero Waste/Reduction page to read the Plan.
