Downtown Commuter - Biking

Bicycling is a quick, easy and healthy way to commute to work. Olympia has many trails and bicycle lanes leading to Downtown. For a Thurston County Bike Map, email Public Works.

Bicycling Incentive: Downtown employees who bicycle to work for at least 60% of their monthly commute trips are eligible for a one-time-only $25 gift certificate to the Downtown business of their choice. Check out the rules and general registration form.

Log Your Trips: Register for the Downtown Commuter Program as a bicycle commuter and become eligible for a reward. Be sure to track all your commute trips on the online Commute Calendar or on a paper calendar.

Monthly Drawing: For every month you bike 60% of your total commute trips, you will be entered in a monthly drawing. You must have a general registration form on file and track all your trips to be eligible.

Biking Resources:

  • Combine Modes: If your commute is too long to bike, consider combining biking and riding the bus. Visit Intercity Transit's website for more information on biking and busing.
  • Bicycle Parking: The Racks on Demand program provides bike racks on sidewalks for Downtown businesses that do not have a parking lot or other place to park a bicycle. Learn more.
  • Bicycle Lockers:  Visit Intercity Transit's website for more information on using bike lockers at the Olympia Transit Center.
