Downtown Commuter - Calendar

The Commute Calendar is a tool for you to use to track your daily commute trips.  The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is developing this tool as a way to efficiently record and measure the progress of commute trip reduction programs.

Why have a commute calendar?  The calendar provides a way to measure participation in the Downtown Commuter Program by: 

  • Measuring the percent of trips being made by alternate modes.
  • Qualifying participants for random monthly drawings.
  •   Calculating the number of miles and the amount of money saved, as well as the pounds of CO2 that are being reduced by you as an individual and the program as a whole.
  •   Providing data to tell the story of how downtown workers and businesses are making a difference and keeping downtown a vital place to work, live and shop.

Why does the calendar keep changing? Even as commuters begin to use the calendar, WSDOT will continue to develop and enhance it. The Downtown Commuter Program is a pilot program working with WSDOT to create this calendar. What you see when you sign on is not a finished product. It will allow you to input your commutes; however, its look will continuously change as different functions come online. As a pilot program, we have a great opportunity to influence the development of this tool. If you have suggestions or comments on the calendar, please let us know. We want this to be easy and useful for all participants. So log on, start tracking your commutes, and tell us what you think.

How do I use the calendar?  Check out the calendar and get started. You will be asked a series of questions regarding your work and commute schedule. This information will be used to establish a Commute Trip Reduction baseline survey, as well as to create your user profile. Be sure to make a note of your user name and password.  You will need those each time you log on to record your daily trips! Click the calendar to get started and begin tracking your daily commute trips!
