The City of Olympia provides financial assistance to rehabilitate or to create housing for low- to moderate-income housing through the Federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program. In addition, the City also offers programs to encourage the development of multi-family housing in eligible areas and beautification of neighborhoods.


CDBG Program

The Federal CDBG program provides funds for the acquisition and rehabilitation of housing for low- to moderate-income households. In addition, the program supports specific economic development and social services activities.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

The City of Olympia's Consolidated Annual Performance Review (CAPER) will be made available for a public comment period from November 3, 2009, through November 17, 2009.  The CAPER is the annual report for the City of Olympia's Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program implementation of the City's Consolidated Plan through proposed actions identified in the 2008 budget year's one-year action plan.  Copies of this report (pdf) can be downloaded from the City's website.  Hard copies will be made available at the City of Olympia Community Development Office located at 837 7th Ave SE, Olympia, WA 98501, or by calling (360) 753-8436.

 The City will also hold a public hearing to take public comment on the CAPER on Tuesday, November 17, 2009, at 7:00 p.m. at the Olympia City Hall, 900 Plum Street SE, Olympia, WA.
