Planned Power Outage on Friday, November 20

Puget Sound Energy has scheduled a power outage in the 1000 to 1100 block of Black Lake Boulevard from 3:00 am - 9:00 am on Friday, November 20, 2009.  This outage will affect streetlights, and citizens are advised to take precautions due to limited visibility during this time. Traffic signals should not be affected.

Downtown Olympia Traffic Impacts:

  • Lakeridge Video News ReleaseLakeridge Drive (Courthouse Hill) Road is Open: One lane will remain open at all times, with flaggers directing traffic around the remaining construction. Visit Olympia's Lakeridge Drive construction page or view our video right to learn more about this project. 
  • State Data Center Project: Work near the intersection of 14th Avenue and Jefferson Street, is related to construction of the new State Department of Information Services building, also called the Wheeler Project. For more information and updates on the project, visit the DIS website.

Eastside Olympia Traffic Impacts:

  • Boulevard Road & Log Cabin Road Construction: Beginning on Tuesday, August 11, 2009, the intersection of Boulevard Road and Log Cabin Road will have a temporary bypass in place. Construction was originally scheduled for completion by the end of November 2009.  However, due to weather and other construction-related delays, we will “winter over” the project and complete it in the spring of 2010.   • Crosswalks on Flash: The flashing crosswalks on 4th & Frederick Street and State & Sawyer will be put on flash until further notice, due to damage of one of the ballards.
  • State & Puget: The pedestrian crossing signals in all directions of State and Puget are out due to damage.
  • Union Avenue Overlay: Construction along Union Avenue from Plum Street to Capitol Way is almost complete.  Visit the project page for more information.

Westside Olympia Traffic Impacts:

  • Westside Sewer Interceptor Replacement: Temporary traffic disruptions on West Bay Drive. The contractor is preparing the streets for paving, expected to begin October 12, 2009. Visit the project page for more information. Updated October 7, 2009
