Construction News - State Avenue Soil Clean Up
Location:
The project is located at 318 State Avenue between Adams and Frankin Streets in downtown Olympia.
Schedule:
Construction will start on September 8, 2009 and will be complete by October 16, 2009.
Traffic Impacts:
LANE CLOSURE: The right lane of traffic will be closed on Wednesday, October 14, 2009 from approximately 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. to remove jersey barriers from the project site. The left lane of traffic will remain open.
The sidewalks and parking stalls on the west side of Adams Street and north side of State Avenue will be closed during construction, but will reopen by October 19, 2009.
Description:
The City is working with the Department of Ecology to voluntarily clean up the contaminated soil at this site. This project will remove, haul away and dispose of the excavated soil and refurbish the property back to its current condition. As part of the project, sidewalk along Adams Street and State Avenue will be replaced due to excavation.
