Construction News - Westside Sewer Interceptor Replacement
Westside Sewer Interceptor Replacement Project:
The Westside Sewer Interceptor Replacement project replaced a major wastewater line serving west Olympia contributed to overflows at the West Bay Pump Station. The Wastewater Utility considers this a high priority to remedy the sewer system’s lack of capacity to handle peak flows.
The project installed a sanitary sewer main and manholes; following installation, the streets received an asphalt overlay. Several intersection corners received American with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant access ramps.
The project started on West Bay Drive, north of the upper roundabout; to Garfield Avenue, to Sherman Street north to Jackson Avenue, west to Percival Street and ending at Madison Avenue. View the project area map.
