Sidewalks - San Francisco Avenue Phase II

Project Location:
Sidewalks will be constructed on the north side of San Francisco Avenue from Quince Street to East Bay Drive. 
 
Project Elements: 

  • Tree Removal - Five trees will be removed before construction.  Three trees are hazardous and need to be removed for safety reasons.  Two additional trees will be removed to construct the sidewalk and retaining wall.  View the trees to be removed.  
  • Sidewalk Construction - The sidewalk will vary in width from 6 feet to 8 feet, depending on location, and run along San Francisco Avenue from Quince Street to East Bay Drive.
  • Retaining Wall - A retaining wall will be constructed along the hillside on San Francisco Avenue to ensure hillside stability.
  • Stormwater Conveyance & Treatment System - A stormwater conveyance and treatment system will be installed to treat water run off before it enters Budd Inlet.
  • Art Component - Decorative elements will be added to the sidewalk at the landing at San Francisco hill and to the retaining wall.

Road Open:

  • San Francisco Avenue is now open to traffic. Sidewalk construction is still ongoing, so there may be traffic delays. Alternate routes are encouraged.
